A pronoun is used in place of a noun that has already been mentioned or that is already known, often to avoid repeating the noun (menjaju imenice u slučajevima, kada je imenica već pomenuta, radi izbegavanja ponavljanja) .
– Kate was tired so she went to bed.
– Harris and others like him suffer from Information Fatigue Syndrome.
– Kieran’s face was close to mine.
– Anything might happen.

Pronouns can
be classified into 8 groups:
1. personal pronouns

Example:

- Kada se odnosi na objekat onda ima drugu
formu:

2 Possessive
pronoun
- Pokazuju nam ko poseduje nešto:
- To su: mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs
Examples: Mine is
red. I prefer yours. (mine and yours = possessive pronouns)

3 Demonstrative pronoun
Pokazuju na imenicu. To su sledeće pokazne
zamenice: that, these, this, and those.
Examples:
This is what I
want to do.
These are his two sisters.
That's an
excellent idea.
Are those your brothers?
4 Reflexive
pronoun
- Povratne zamenice koje se odnose na
subjekat. Svaka lična zamenica ima svoju povratnu zamenicu:
I — myself
you (singular) — yourself
he — himself
she — herself
it — itself
we — ourselves
you (plural) — yourselves
they — themselves
- Upitne reči za postavljanje pitanja.

- Who za subjekat.

- "Who gave

7 Distributive pronoun
- lice li stvar uzeto kao grupa ili jedno po jedno:
Examples of distributive pronouns: every, each, either, neither, both.
Each one of you will be given a chance.
Either of you can take the matter to the
chairman.
Neither of you is qualified to attend the final.
8 Relative pronouns
- upotrebljava se za
relativne rečenice:
Example: The person who phoned me
last night is my teacher.
